Washington Justice re-signs Decay, acquires Mag | Dot Esports

Photo by Carlton Beener via Activision Blizzard Entertainment One of the 2020 Overwatch League’s most notable players has decided to relaunch it next year. The Washington judge announced today that he will re-sign DPS Jang “Decay” Gui-un for the 2021 season. Additionally, the team has acquired the Kim “Mag” Tae-sung main tank from RunAway, Overwatch Korea Contenders team. These additions to the roster should be good news for weary Washington Justice fans. Earlier this week, the team parted ways with longtime main tank Gye “rOar” Chang-hoon. Additionally, the 2021 Overwatch League Contract Status Report showed that most of Justice’s top players are entering free agency, including Decay. Despite an appalling regular season with a 4-17 record, Washington Justice managed to make a monumental run in the playoffs. Much of that success was attributed to Decay, who bowed to Zarya off the tank and teleported anyone who opposed him. The judge reached the lower final of the playoff range before being beaten by the Philadelphia Fusion. Decay was a clutch acquisition for Washington, who picked it up in August after being released from Dallas Fuel amid reports of non-compliance. The DPS player began his Overwatch League journey as a member of the Los Angeles Gladiators in 2018 before joining Dallas Fuel during the 2019 offseason. In the 2021 Overwatch League season, Decay will be supported by Mag, a longtime member of the successful RunAway franchise. Mag has been a part of RunAway as the team racked up championship wins in Contenders Korea as well as various NetEase tournaments. The rest of Washington Justice’s 2021 roster remains a mystery at this time, although head coach Seung-Jun “Sup7eme” Han and general manager Aaron “PRE” Heckman return to the organizational side next year.
