Riot Deploys VALORANT Patch to Resolve Omen Exploit on Icebox | Esports Ray

Image via Riot GamesRiot Games is implementing a fix for a groundbreaking issue that allowed Omen to teleport under the Icebox map. VALORANT players were able to gather information about the enemy team and attack using the exploit. Earlier this week, players reported the ability to teleport under B Kitchen on Icebox using Omen’s ultimate, From the Shadows. Once players were under the map, they were able to see spawn B, right in the middle, and the path to Site B. Players can also come back to the map using Omen’s Shrouded Step ability to teleport to safety. A fix is being released today that should stop an exploit where Omen is able to teleport and attack from an unplayable area on Icebox. All regions should start seeing the patch around 4:00 p.m. PDT. – VALORANT (@PlayVALORANT) October 21, 2020 Omen’s abilities have already caused issues in other maps. Players were able to use Omen’s Dark Cover ability to see through walls, and the agent was able to teleport into walls earlier this year. These issues were eventually resolved, but players continually found new ways to abuse Omen’s abilities. Omen is one of VALORANT’s most popular agents and recently topped selection rates at the VALORANT Renegades x NSG Invitational. He’s a lethal agent in good hands, and glitches and exploits can easily make him an unstoppable force. The fix will be available in all regions at 6:00 p.m. PT and hopefully fix the issue. Riot will also release a patch later this week to address micro-stuttering affecting a large chunk of the player base.
