Houston Outlaws owner Beasley Esports has appointed Matt Iorio as the team’s general manager, effective immediately. The former professional Overwatch League player from the Outlaws was widely regarded as one of the best OWL players of the league’s inaugural season. Iorio was also a member of the 2017 USA Overwatch World Cup squad that advanced to the quarter-finals before falling to Korea 4-2. Iorio left the team and retired as a player in January, but took on a leadership role with players and helped help the Outlaws navigate COVID-19 as well as expand online play. and the team’s brand activations.
