G2 approaches the NiKo agreement

[ad_1]

FaZe star Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is about to complete a move to G2, HLTV.org has learned. It seems increasingly likely that the Bosnian will feature for his new squad in the BLAST Premier Fall Series as everything indicates a deal is near. Sources told HLTV.org that FaZe is already looking for potential candidates to replace NiKo if necessary, as they too will be participating in the BLAST tournament, with their first match scheduled for October 29. HLTV.org and 1pv.fr first signaled the interest of G2. at NiKo on September 18. It has been reported that a transfer could take several weeks to finalize due to the complexity of the deal – which will involve one of the game’s biggest transfer fees – and the busy schedule both teams had ahead of them. NiKo’s time with FaZe is coming to an end As reported last month, Francois “AmaNEk” Delaunay is most likely to get the ax as G2 looks to add even more firepower to the squad with the signing of a star player who has six MVP medals to his name and made four consecutive top 20 appearances between 2016 and 2019. NiKo has been part of the FaZe setup since March 2017 when he was signed of mousesports for reported costs in the order of $ 500,000. He won several international titles under the North American organization and was set to finally add a major crown to his collection at ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018 before his team lost the final to Cloud9 in dramatic fashion. Trophies have been hard to come by for FaZe over the past two years, even after the much-publicized signing of Marcelo “coldzera” David in September 2019. After suffering poor form following this year’s playing hiatus, l The team had a triumphant run at IEM New York – at a time when G2 and FaZe were already locked in talks – but then fell at DreamHack Open Fall, finishing ninth in the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament. G2 have also struggled for form since returning from the player’s break. The France team have won only seven of their last 20 matches, dropping from fifth place in the world rankings to 11th. They were placed in BLAST Premier Fall Series Group C alongside Astralis, FURIA and MIBR, their first match between them and Andrei “arT” Piovezan’s team on November 2. G2 declined to comment for this report.
