Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is almost here and Activision shares yet another mode that gamers can enjoy with Zombies Onslaught. Zombies are a staple in Black Ops and that legacy continues with Cold War. That being said, we have some good news and some bad news about this particular mode. This should come as no surprise given previous PlayStation Exclusive offers for the Call of Duty franchise, but the new Zombies Onslaught mode will be a timed exclusive for PlayStation players. This particular gaming experience will drop on other platforms after November 1 of next year, as well as next-gen consoles. Activision Editorial Editor-in-Chief James Mattone took to the PlayStation Blog to detail the new mode while also showing off a nifty new trailer showing what it will offer Call of Duty: Onslaught gamers. a two-man Zombies experience that is fast paced and absolutely brutal. So like pretty much every other Zombie mode, with less crowds. According to Mattone, “In Zombies Onslaught, you and another Operator will deploy to one of the many locations derived from various multiplayer maps with your custom loadouts. These are the same loadouts you’ll take in both traditional zombies and multiplayer, with your favorite primary weapon, whether it’s an LMG, high impact sniper rifle, or other fully equipped tools for zombie destruction. “Once the players have arrived, it’s where the fun really begins. The Dark Aether Orb will trap players in a confined area to confront them with constant waves of undead. In order to power the Orb, players must kill as many zombies as possible. Kill enough, and the Orb will advance and players will be able to move with it to avoid external damage from the Dark Aether. Duck and roll, panic, shoot, repeat; that’s the name of Onslaught mode. With various types of zombies included in enemy waves including elite enemies, you don’t really win, you just do a little better each time. Mattone also added a bit more on the ranking, saying, “For the sake of scoring, elites should be your primary target, as you will be awarded a Bronze, Silver or Gold ranking depending on how many elites you and your partner have. can defeat. Upon reaching a specific rank, you will unlock useful rewards for use in zombies and multiplayer. Each season, new maps and rewards will be introduced for PS4 and PS5 players. “For PC and Xbox players, it stinks that this mode won’t be available for a whole year after launch, but at least it’s not a permanent exclusive? On the bright side, perhaps? As for the game itself, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War debuts on November 13. Are you excited for the latest iteration of Black Ops? What do you think of Onslaught?
