Assassin’s Creed Valhalla already looks like a meaty experience, but Ubisoft has laid out its plans to keep future raiders engaged for next year. Large Seasonal Events will further enhance the Viking experience for free, while Season Pass holders will be entitled to two Major Story Expansions. The first paid content is Wrath of the Druids. Players travel to the scenic hills and haunted woods of Ireland to unravel the mystery of a Celtic Druidic cult. It involves discovering and hunting down its members. Players also take part in battles against Ring Forts and will influence the trading system and the Dublin Monarchy. Wrath of Druids will launch in Spring 2021. The second expansion, The Siege of Paris, takes players to Frankia amid a crucial and bloody conflict in Viking history. Players must infiltrate fortified Paris and form strategic alliances to conquer the city from within its walls. Parish Headquarters arrives in the summer of 2021. Additionally, Season Pass holders have access to The Legend of Beowulf, an exclusive quest that will be available on launch day. For everyone, Ubisoft plans to sprinkle free seasonal events throughout the next year from the first season until the end of 2020. A Viking Yule festival is the central event of the season. River Raids, a new game mode, offers a challenging take on traditional raids. Players can also expect to recruit Jomsvikings from their friends’ games, an additional settlement area, as well as new weapons, abilities, and cosmetic items. Ubisoft has promised to add similar content for subsequent seasons and has revealed the timeline for their arrival. Look for season two for spring 2021, season three for summer, and season four for next fall. Finally, Ubisoft has announced that the popular Discovery Tour, the educational and conflict-free world tour, will return to Valhalla sometime in 2021. Given the success Ubisoft has had with its wonderful post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it is good to see this trend continue with the new installment. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches November 10 for Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC. It also releases November 12 for PlayStation 5.
