It’s October, which means some fun Halloween game events to enjoy. From shooters like Call of Duty and Overwatch to niche games like a / review / among-us / among-us-review-better-late-than-never and Pokemon GO; here are some of the biggest gaming events to enjoy for Halloween 2020. Borderlands 3 | Bloody Harvest The Bloody Harvest event is back for Borderlands 3 players, but don’t expect it to be too different from last year’s event. Meet Maurice in Sanctuary III, get as much Hecktoplasm as you can get your hands on, and kill Captain Haunt in Heck (yes, heck). Much like last time around, there will be specific challenges to complete to unlock Timed Loot. Another positive aspect of this year’s event is that Gearbox listened to fans and made the necessary adjustments to make the challenges more enjoyable and less difficult. This event is available now and will run until November 5. Overwatch | Halloween Terror Junkenstein’s Revenge returns with three weeks of tasks left to earn exclusive new skins for select heroes while having the chance to unlock cosmetics from previous years. Whether you just want to play Arcade or QuickPlay for the weekly drops, or want to participate in Junkenstein’s various Revenge modes, the annual Halloween event returns with a few different things, but at least the skins look dope. . This event is available now and runs until November 3. Destiny 2 | Festival of the Lost Festival of the Lost is nothing new, but it’s my favorite of all the events in Destiny 2. With Halloween-themed rewards and new activities, it’s a fun reason to dive in and celebrate all the scary things while doing the normal grind. Did you miss last year’s event? No worries, you can still unlock the old masks featuring some of our favorite in-game faces while also earning new designs. For those who want more weapons, the Braytech Werewolf and Horror Story are also making their triumphant return, albeit with updated perks. It is in the Haunted Forest where players must fight their way through hordes of nightmares for a chance to acquire some sweet and sugary Halloween-themed equipment and cosmetics. Another thing to note? If you have friends who play, you’ll want to band together with them to communicate. The Haunted Forest is procedurally generated with various branches of the forest itself to get rid of nightmares. The more areas cleared means better rewards, so sync up with other Guardians you can talk to to take a more tactical approach to the in-game treat portion of the game. This event is available now and will run until November 3. Among Us While there are no new cards, the returning indie Among Us has added festive Halloween cosmetic items for free, while also adding spooky decorations to areas of the game. Unlike other events in Halloween doesn’t really have an end time and seems like just a cosmetic addition above all else. Animal Crossing: New Horizons New recipes and decorations are available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Switch players to discover new ways to perfect the island of your dreams. Collectible recipes are hidden everywhere as well as new ways to add a personal touch with new eye colors and facial pain. You can also buy candy at Nook’s Cranny to gift to the various villagers on your island for special access to certain themed recipes, as well as revealing Halloween additions seen with certain villager appearances. This event is available now and will run until October 31. Team Fortress 2 | Scream Fortress XII Team Fortress 2 is the gift that continues to be given, however long you are away. With its 13th annual event, Scream Fortress is back with new Megalo, Bloodwater, Hassle Castle, and Moldergrove maps as well as new unlockable themed cosmetic items. Soul Gargoyles is also back with specific tasks to complete while playing the game, which is a perfect excuse to return to this Valve favorite. This event is available now and will run until November 7. World of Warcraft | Hallow’s End The annual WoW Halloween event is back for everyone to have the chance to win this mount again. With the release of the pre-patch for Shadowlands and the start of the adjustment period, an old favorite returns with Hallow’s End. Cheat or treat, face the headless horseman; the usual. With plenty of costume sets up for grabs with Tricky Treats and new pets online, there are a few great reasons to get started! This event is available now and will run until November 1. Guild Wars 2 | Shadow of the Mad King Halloween once again invades Tyria with Mad Realm as we try – and fail – to escape the labyrinthine horror. Massive Mad King jumping puzzles, the return of the Lunatic Inquisition and more are back in the ArenaNet MMORPG. Personally, I love this event. This is the only time every year that I load up my toon and dive back into Guild Wars. Once the event is over, I’m back on this build of Destiny 2. This event is available now and will run until November 3. Apex Legends | Fight or Fright Event “Just in time for Halloween we return to the spooky alternate dimension where Revenant leads the Apex Games <” reads the latest blog post on the new mode. “Shadow Royale starts out like any other trio match, but when you die you will be raised from the dead in a powerful 'shadow form' to avenge your assassins and aid your team to victory. Armed with attack With brutal melee, enhanced mobility and blazing speed, you'll terrorize other squads and protect your own with endless shadow lives until your living teammates are either eliminated or you emerge victorious as the last living squad. " And let's not forget the most important thing about this event: it brings back the wallrunning from Titanfall. Whether this mechanic will be added as a permanent addition down the line remains to be seen, but Shadows having this ability at least means that we can enjoy it for a little while. Everything for Halloween! This event will start on October 22 and will run until November 3. Pokemon GO players will be tasked with catching a variety of Ghost-type Pokemon while also getting an exclusive costumed Gengar and Sableye. The spawn rate of ghost types will increase exponentially for that specific event. To get the Gengar theme, you will need to participate in Pokemon GO raids. For the Sableye with the cute little Litwick hat, they will be found just by playing the game organically in nature. Or, you can just hatch a bunch of eggs. There will be a special Pokemon GO search for this Halloween event called Once again Scary Unmasked Message. This is where you can get your hands on the Galarian Yamask by helping Professor Willow with his investigations. Players will also have the option of catching a Spiritbomb as an additional treat, with a Shiny version also available. This event starts on October 23 and ends on November 3. Fortnite | Fortnitemares Fortnitemares will feature Midas' Revenge this year with Vanquish challenges to liven up this undead lifestyle a bit. Take a tour of the Ghoulish Islands, join in for a Halloween party or follow in the footsteps of Shadow Midas and his henchman to haunt all your enemies in the game. Nitemare Royale is also a second chance to win. Once eliminated in Battle Royale, you will be able to eliminate the survivors as a shadow with special abilities from another world. This event will go live on October 21 and will run until November 3. Call of Duty: Warzone | The Haunting of Verdansk The Haunting of Verdansk event brings both Jigsaw from the Saw movies and Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre while also offering a ton of other Halloween-themed cosmetic items to unlock. “As Halloween approaches, a team of operators are stepping in for what appears to be normal infiltration in Verdansk, although there have been discussions back and forth of unexplained and bizarre events in remote areas of the city. map ”, we read in the last blog post. about the seasonal event. Operators have been made aware of reports of a serial killer who bears his victim's face alone. There is scattered information about strange sounds emanating from various places in the war zone; and not least the piercing and frightening laughter of a ventriloquist doll. "Hell does not take long to break loose: one by one, the team are brutally kidnapped until there is only one survivor, who after a confrontation with Verdansk's own urban legend, swears to return under cover of night and avenge his brothers. in arms. " This event is available now and will run until November 3. Dead by Daylight | The Eternal Blight The Entity Realm gets even more ghoulish with themed hooks and generators to bring that Halloween spirit in. The comeback event brings Pustula Flowers to the Fog back with special themed loot that you can earn and love. New Halloween-themed challenges are here in Tome V: Unleashed with more ways to harvest Pustule Blossoms for specific rewards while uncovering a spooky new story. The first Universal Killer add-on is also available with Blighted Serum, which is available to all Killers through the Bloood Web. This event is available now and will run until November 4. Killing Floor 2 | Infernal Insurrection Halloween-themed Zeds, more loot, new weapons, a brand new map inspired by the King's Cross Railroads? Say no. The gates of Hell have opened again for a new map called Hellmark Station. Inspired by King's Cross Station, the demonic Zed is ready to rip a limb off you if you don't get it first. New HRG weapons are also available with the Scorcher and Arc Generator in addition to a plethora of themed cosmetics up for grabs. This event is available now until November 10.
